The second item on the agenda, which was added today, for the Finance and Legal Affairs Committee at 3:30 p.m. was "To hear a presentation on the frivolous ethics complaint filed against Councilman Jones".
I say that Alexandria City Councilman Jerry Jones has lost his mind because the City Council has absolutely nothing to do with an ethics complaint filed against him with the Louisiana Ethics Board.
There is a statutory prohibition from disclosing a ethical complaint.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense realizes that the Ethics Board investigates politicians. That includes City Councilmen. It will be up to the Ethics Board to determine whether or not this complaint has any merit, not the Alexandria City Council.
