Do you remember when Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy
made Jerry Jones the City Councilman for District 3?
Do you also remember that Jacques, City Attorney Chuck
Johnson and contract attorney Trey Gist, all three lawyers,
were all present?
Recall that they had Jerry immediately sworn in so that
they could hurry up and have him vote for Harry Silver
with the White Councilmen for Jacques' hand picked
president of the Alexandria City Council.
On Tuesday's agenda for the City Council is a resolution
ratifying and acknowledging all official acts of newly appointed
District 3 Councilman Jerry Jones since his date of appointment
on December 13, 2011.
What is the purpose for this resolution? Do you mean that
Jacques, all of the lawyers that were present, and a judge was
present they were in such a hurry to seat Jerry that they
did something wrong?
If all of Jerry's acts have to be ratified now, what about the
4 to 3 vote for Harry Silver?
Since this resolution applies to Jerry personally and determines
the date his pay as a Councilman starts, Jerry cannot ethically
vote on it, that could possibly throw it into a three to three
tie which I don't believe that Jacques can can then break
the tie.
I'd just like to know why he wears so much eye make-up. By the looks of that image above, he used a tube of mascara and a full kohl pencil. Mr. Jones, less is best when it comes to eye make-up!
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that he ain't got the office until the Secretary of State issues the certificate and they are attempting to make all of Roy's Royal Proclamations actually mean something. In other words, all those magic 4 : 3 votes during that period are actually 3 : 3 tie votes.
