STATUS ON MOVIE TAX CREDITS IN LOUISIANA

Preliminary figures for 2011, reported by the Times-Picayune in New Orleans, show that more than 150 applications for the movie tax incentive program were filed with Louisiana Entertainment (up from 141 in 2010) with budgets totaling about $1.9 billion (up from $1.4 billion). (See: "Beads & Boos: LSU has put a smile on Louisiana's game face all season").

"The program has been building since the first incentives were passed in 2002." id.

And let's not forget the hard work of Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy and Bill Hess to land Cypress Moon's "Bonnie and Clyde" movie which has been talking of filming here since 2007.
