LSU LOST TO BAMA

"With a smothering display of old-school football, No. 2 Alabama blew out the Tigers 21-0 in the BCS championship game Monday night, celebrated a bit and headed back to Tuscaloosa with its second national title in three years." (See: "Alabama Beats LSU In BCS Championship Game: Crimson Tide Is The Best After BCS Rout").

The game, at least for LSU, was an utter disgrace.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why LSU Coach Les Miles did not put Quarterback Jarrett Lee into the game. Lee could have certainly done no worse than Quarterback Jordan Jefferson.

Lee, who was a big reason LSU was in the championship game in the first place,  was the teams leader since Jefferson wasn't the starter for most of the year while he was suspended following a preseason fight outside a bar and didn't see the field until the fifth game of the season. (See: "Jarrett Lee rots on the bench while Jordan Jefferson stinks it up on the field").

"Lee's career against the Tide, he was 24-of-58 for 316 yards, one touchdown and seven interceptions." id.

Back during the first match up with Alabama during the regular season, "Jarrett Lee, who came into the game with one interception, threw two against the Tide and looked shaky". (See: "What we learned from LSU-Alabama: Too much to overcome for Crimson Tide").

Jarrett Lee was asked to take one snap at the end of the SEC title game and he took a knee. (See: "Jefferson, Lee lead LSU offense against Alabama").

I think that LSU coach Les Miles is at least partially at fault for last night's defeat for not replacing Jefferson with Lee.

  1. After LSU won the first game in regular season during overtime the Tide was PISSED. They came to the Dome gunning for the Tigers. They wanted to rub our nose in it-and they damned well did. I don't think that Miles and the team realized just how much 'Bama wanted to kick our ass-and it showed. We were out-played and out-coached. They wanted to "show" us and we were "showed". Congrats to them for a well played game.
