KSYL SMOKING BAN 1\9\2012 (22:19)
You will hear the woman caller near the end call in to tell about how she is convinced that her father died from smoking and her mother died from inhaling second hand smoke. He father was 88 years of age.
How does she know for a fact that their health problems were caused by second hand smoke and not for some other cause? At age 88, just how long did she expect her father to live if he had never smoked? If her father smoked from age 14, why isn't she dead from second hand smoke?
How does she know that their health problems were not caused by industrial pollution, vehicle exhaust, smoke from burning crops or timber, or the dust raised on construction sites and even cutting your own grass?
Banning cigarette and cigar smoke is much easier and less costly to the tax revenues to government than any of those other causes of air pollution. To tell someone that they cannot smoke on their own property, even outside of it, is a taking of their property rights.
