CLECO ATTORNEY FEES TRIAL UPDATE

For the many of you that are awaiting an opinion in the trial in the Brown, Sharp and Davidson contingency fee cases versus the City of Alexandria arising from the City's litigation for fraud committed by Cleco, on January 9, 2012, the following message was posted on Pacer:

"NOTICE OF FILING OF OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT of Proceedings filed for Bench Trial-Day 1, Excerpted Testimony of Kelvin Sanders, held on 6/29/2011 before Judge Dee D Drell. Court Reporter Myra Primeaux, Telephone number (318) 442-3080. Pages: 1-221 Transcript may be viewed at the court public terminal or purchased through the Court Reporter before the deadline for Release of Transcript Restriction. After that date it may be obtained through the Court Reporter or PACER. Redaction Request due 2/2 /2012. Redacted Transcript Deadline set for 2/13/2012. Release of Transcript Restriction set for 4/12/2012. (crt,Primeaux, M)."

I do not know exactly what this means or when we can expect a ruling from federal Judge Dee Drell in the cases.

"Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) is an electronic public access service that allows users to obtain case and docket information from federal appellate, district and bankruptcy courts, and the PACER Case Locator via the Internet. PACER is provided by the federal Judiciary in keeping with its commitment to providing public access to court information via a centralized service." (See: "PACER").
