That post just goes to show you that only a real lawyer should comment on the legalities of court cases and one should know the facts before he shoots his mouth off.
The post starts out by writing that I abused the Public Records Law for a technical violation.
The law means exactly what it says. The City of Alexandria violated the Public Records Law and that is why I won the case. The City's violation of the law is no more technical that driving 65 in a posted 55 mph zone. A violation is a violation.
Next, that post wrote that the City of Alexandria was in good faith. While the 3rd Circuit did rule that in Heath I, it was only to the issue of penalties and had nothing to do with that Court's finding that the City of Alexandria did in fact still violate the Public Records Law. Once again, I did win the case.
And finally, the post wrote that "Greg Aymond was essentially awarded $2500 in attorney fess in a lawsuit that was patently frivolous and unnecessary". id. That is also a lie.
The judgment, which included the court costs and the $2,500 attorney fees, was awarded to Mr. Heath, not to me. I handled the case for free. In their hatred for lawyers, Slayter and gang refuse to recognize that some lawyers actually believe in enforcement of the law as a prime consideration for taking a case.
Also, the Court in Heath I didn't believe that the lawsuit was "frivolous and unnecessary" because, once again, I won. Slayter and crew it appear to face the disagreement with lawyers and judges over their own non-expert legal opinions.
