So I sent in, on January 12, 2009, the following letter to Mayor Roy asking him the following questions regarding the Cleco agreement. According to Councilman Chuck Fowler, since it had to do with litigation it was turned over to City Attorney Chuck Johnson. To this date, a month later, I have received no response for the City.

Also, on Wed. of this week, I telephoned Mr. Johnson to ask him a public meeting question concerning the most recent City Council meeting.

I turned on the television to Channel 4 to watch the briefing but it didn't come on. I telephoned the mayor's office and his secretary informed me that he appeared on KSYL radio this morning and there was no need for an administrative briefing. His secretary also told me that they had sent out a fax cancelling that briefing. I received no such fax.
I called Councilmen Chuck Fowler and Harry Silver to tell them of this. Mr. silver graciously suggested that I contact Mr. Lawson. Mr, Silver also called me on Monday to suggest that I watch Channel 4 for a response to my Cleco questions.
The letter below was sent to Mr. Lawson today.

As anyone can see, I have been very supportive of Mayor Roy on this blog. Despite that, due to my disagreements with the mayor on issues of race, and/or because I publish this blog, Mayor Roy is denying me my basic rights for information from the City as is the right of any citizen of Alexandria. How can he complain of blogs' accuracy if he refuses to give them information?
The mayor is treating his showing of his administrative briefings as a private club for members of the media with absolutely no regard for the citizens of Alexandria. He is using the briefings as a personal showing of himself in the best light to the media. He is using Channel 4 for his own personal promotion.
I hope that my mayor will rectify these problems.
