In its today's editorial, entitled "Bailout: No other options were studied", the Shreveport Times wrote:
"If the people of Louisiana have learned anything in the last several years, it is that simply throwing money at a disaster doesn't fix the problem unless with wise reforms to practices that failed us," Landrieu said. Vitter said, "Now is the time to reform the misguided government policies that caused this mess." We have to wonder how many "yes" votes were cast for the "sweeteners" rather than the bailout. While we accept the congressional action, we agree with Vitter and Landrieu that other avenues for dealing with the crisis should have been explored."
Many of those who voted for the Wall Street financial bailout did so either for the special interest which will be supported by the financial pay offs included in the bill, because they are Communist in theory, or because they were simply too lazy or too stupid but to go along with the majority.
But the Congressmen do this because they know Americans don't really care. For example, Rep. Rodney Alexander was reelected yesterday, by almost 90% of the voters who bothered to vote, despite his having voted in favor of the Senate bill.
